Snow Day Mistreatments

This is the view from my cottage today.

So I decided to dust off this friend who does not get much use around my house.

While snacking on these....

I made some slipcover mistreatments for my stools. I used a vintage grain sack that I purchased last summer. I don't know if I am totally crazy about the outcome - I may add some vintage buttons on the back for an extra detail. This is one of those projects that has been on my "to do" list for a long time. Today's snow, gave me the perfect opportunity to give it a go.

I hope it is more springlike at your cottage - off to buy some daffodils!

  1. Super cute! I actually bought some burlap bags to do something similar! Your chairs are super cute the way they are but I think they would also be so cute with a little frill around the bottom! I just picked up some slipcovered barstools that have the slipcover covering the seat too - I want to have some new ones made with a little frill around the seat! You're probably going "What?!?!". I love the blue stripes on yours! Meg

  2. They look great! I think the buttons would be a nice touch but they are really nice the way they are if you decided to leave them.

  3. I think they look fantastic. What a terrific idea :) Too bad I don't have bar stools ;) But I think I'll try something like this since I should have some of the fabric left over after I make my grain sack pillow :)

  4. I like the idea of adding a ruffle/trim at the bottom - they need something to look more "finished". Stay tuned....

  5. I think they look really great as is, but I also think buttons or a ruffle trim {the ruffle would be such a nice contrast to the more rustic grain sack material} would take it over the top. Very creative use of a grain sack I must say!

  6. I love these slipcovers!! They are perfect for the stools. Makes me want to try something on my sewing machine (which has yet to be out of the box!).
