{*Best blog title EVAH!}
I tried very hard to begin some house projects this week but
for whatever reason, this was just NOT my week to be successful.
My Minnesota driver's license expires on Tuesday, as in this COMING Tuesday.
Procrastination is not something I recommend. I confidently {did not read the manual}
walked into my DMV, happy to see no lines and smiling government workers to assist me,
only to sit down and proceed to FAIL the written driver's test required to
be licensed in Oregon! A older gentleman offered me his dog-eared corner Oregon
Driver Manual and I walked out in shame! I will return on Monday
to give it another go, guess I will be studying my manual this weekend!
This is my latest 'project' - a perfect size/scale desk purchased with a less
than desirable painted finish. I was enthusiastic about making this
piece of furniture my first furniture stripping success.............and writing
a great blog post with fabulous before and after photos that
would burn up Pinterest with pinning craziness.....
But it is not going to happen cause I am NOT a stripper{of furniture}.....
I lack the patience
and the determination
and the stick-to-it-ness
and the time.....
and the desire
and whatever else you need to be a successful stripper {of furniture, silly!}.
So I am painting - a better color with a better finish
and she will be gorgeous, easy-peasy, just the way I like it.
And because this post originally included blah, ugly photos, I thought
I would leave you with this cute guy....he's a goldendoodle
Pin-worthy, if I may say so myself.
Have an awesome weekend!
Jill, you are SO not alone in that. I would rather sand a piece for three days than use stripper. That stuff is a pain! Cute pup! :) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeletehaahaaa!! LOVE your post title! I cant wait to see how the desk turns out! :) Rachel
ReplyDeleteGood luck on both the test on Monday and the desk project. We don't rewrite the test or take a drivers exam again unless you seriously and repeatedly get tickets (a points system) or are over 80 years. But with some of the drivers on our roads, maybe it would be a good idea. Pup is indeed pin worthy cuteness. I'm not sure if you know that you have word verification enabled. It was added to my blog without my realizing it and I just took it off.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing a great transformation achieved. Chin up. Thanks for sharing. Cheers SpecialK XoXo
ReplyDeleteWe all have had days like this ~ poor you! I can empathize with you about the driving test. It took me over a year to build up the courage to take my Florida driving test after 28 years of driving in the U.K. then I just had to do it in a car lot but had spent a year worrying. Good luck with the retest, i'm sure you'll fly through it, Sally x
ReplyDeleteI think that's why annie sloan is so popular. none of us want to strip.
ReplyDeleteI give you major
ReplyDeletepoints just for
THINKING of
tackling this, Jill!
Love your sweet
pooch! And I'm
certain you will
tackle the rules
of the road, soon!
xx Suzanne
I'm sitting here in the middle of the night laughing at my computer screen. LOLOLOL
ReplyDeleteYou'll do fine on Monday - if not - you are giving your kids a wonderful story to tell when they have their license(s) before you do.
Can't wait to see your cabinet!
;-D

I am the same way with furniture projects. I just lack the patience! Looking forward to seeing your finished piece!
ReplyDeleteWe have a golden doodle, too. They are the best!!
You made me laugh....especially the drivers test. Seriously, I thought we were too old for that stuff...
ReplyDeletelol! Oh you poor girl! What an embarrassing moment for you! What's funny is that they allow you to drive home and back again knowing that you flunked the test! hehehe! Jokes on them, I guess! lol! Good luck on Monday. I'm sure you'll do just fine! And I'm no stripper either. I'd much rather just slap on a bunch of paint! :)
