Really one of the most fun and unexpected outcomes of
my starting this blog has been my work with various
printed publications. Like most of you, one of my personal
indulgences is carving time out in my busy life to curl up with some
good decorating magazines and dream....
I have been blessed to be able to 'scout' some homes that have
been published {or will be soon} in national magazines!
'Scouting' basically means convincing a homeowner {or a friend}
to let you take some very low quality photos of
their beautiful home and then submit them to a
magazine editor for consideration.
Today, I thought I would share some favorite 'scouting shots'.....
This is my friend Meg's living room - her home will be
featured in a upcoming issue of Cottages and Bungalows!
And the shot above is Meg's daughters' bedroom - adorable!
Sometimes you hit the home-jackpot, I was really almost
hyperventilating when I first saw the home
pictured below........
I knew Flea Market Style was the PERFECT fit
and this home just HAD to be seen.....so much vintage
goodness.
I have another 'secret' house that is being photographed
in September....I really can't wait to tell you all
more about it.....
Happy Monday to you all!
What lucky friends you have and what an awesome job you have.
ReplyDeleteI love that huge clock in your friends home and oh my all of the collections at the second home. I can't wait to see the third house.
I would love to have our house scouted. How exciting.
So cool that you get to do this and that you friends are featured. You do have a great eye. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the third one. The above two are just wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! I have the same clock over my mantel as your friend does :) I've always wondered how you get into a magazine, but even with research I'm not sure how to go about it.
ReplyDeleteI love them all! What a great job, looking and photographing people's haven/ home.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I love Meg's house. I hope they will show more rooms than you did on your blog a while back cause I want to see MORE!! I was so obsessed with that coffee table I now own one, and it's your fault or Meg's fault or my fault... lol!
ReplyDeleteAlso, whose house is the one with the yellow bookcase? I would like to check that out too!
The yellow industrial shelf was a home featured in Flea Market Style about 2 issues ago.
DeleteI'll have the go searching for it in my magazine stash... lol
DeleteThank you!!
What fun! That second home is just a huge wow - I'm sure both will look great on the pages of any magazine. :)
ReplyDeleteYou have an eye for picking winners! Unique and gorgeous homes these both are.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! Love the little girls room!! Thanks for sharing Jill!!
